xdiff - X11/Motif based file comparator and merge tool.

OVERVIEW

xdiff is a graphical utility for viewing the differences of a file and up to four revisions of that file. The text of the files is presented side by side with their differences aligned and highlighted in colour for easy identification. xdiff can be used to produce a merged version combining any or all of the differences. Simple editing features are also provided.

xdiff originated out of the desire to extend the capabilities of SGI's gdiff utility. It was also a good excuse to learn Motif programming. xdiff first appeared publicly on the INDYZONE II CD from SGI. That version, which i will call version 1.0, is now distributed with all SGI machines. It has come a long way since then and version 3.4 is the result. It isn't, by any stretch of the imagination, "finished" yet.

Versions 3.3 and 3.4 use an html page for documention in addition to the regular man page.

Executables:

Use your browsers 'save link as' to retreive these executables. They seem to loose their .gz extension but don't get gunziped after the download. So add the .gz extension gunzip it and chmod +x to get your executable. Don't forget to get the support files too. See below.

Link your own on LINUX:
