The following inst packages are available:


KDE_1_1_2  (mips4, R10K, R12K, R5K)

KDE_1_1_2 (mips3, R4K and derivatives)

This package provides QT 1.44,kdesupport,kdebase and kdelibs and installs in /usr/local/kde

Release: kde 1.1.2 Platform: IRIX 6.5

Known Bugs: No audio support

Size: 20.4 MB

Installation instructions:

gunzip kde.mips[3|4].tar.gz
tar xvf kde.tar

Using swmgr:

swmgr -f kde &

Using inst:

inst -f kde

Post install:

After installing, make sure you add /usr/local/kde/bin to your path.

Starting KDE:

Here is a simple .xsession  file if you don't have one. Make sure it is executable.

To start your X server in 24bit mode, make sure the following line appears in

/usr/lib/X11/xdm/Xservers

:0 secure /usr/bin/X11/X -bs -nobitscale -c -pseudomap 4sight -solidroot sgilightblue -cursorFG red -cursorBG white -class TrueColor -depth 24
