      Windows NT 3.5x and 4.0 P/5511 PCI FDDI Driver Release



Description



Release Notes for Release SX00225-B03 and SJ00045-B03 of the Interphase 5511 PCI FDDI 

Adapter for Windows NT 4.0 for Power PC processors.



This release supports the latest version of the IP5511 adapter. This release requires Revision C of 

the IP5511 adapter.



This release fixes two problems:



	1) Driver now discovers adapters on PCI buses greater than 2. This means that adapters

	   installed on PCI buses higher than bus 2 were not discovered.



	2) Driver was not handling IO control codes received by the Network Monitoring Agent. This

	   caused a "blue screen" crash.



Installation of the 5511 PCI FDDI adapter is easily done by inserting the card in an available PCI 

slot after the system is shut off. If problems or difficulties are encountered during installation, please

Installation 



An installation diskette is provided which contains all of the necessary components to install the 

driver. In order to install the FDDI driver, insert the installation diskette in the driver and perform 

the following steps:



	1) If this is a new installation



		a) Insert the floppy into the floppy drive



		b) Click on the "Start" button



		c) Select "Settings" and click on "Control Panel"



		d) Double click on "Network" icon



		e) Click on the "Adapter" tab



		f) Click on the "Add" button



		g) After the "Network Option List" has been built, click on the "Have Disk" button



		h) Click on "OK" button on the "Insert Disk" popup menu if the path shown is "A:\"



		i) Click "OK" on the Select OEM popup menu



		j) Click "OK" on the Network window



		k) Set up TCP for the IP5511 FDDI adapter



		l) Reboot your system



	2) If you already have the IP5511 NT Driver installed on your system



		a) Copy IP5511.SYS from the floppy to the %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers directory



		b) Reboot your system
