     Readme file for Interphase CDDI/FDDI EISA Adapter card
     Windows NT drivers

This disk contains drivers for the Windows NT environment.
Also included are the files for installation and tools for
FDDI statistics and firmware download. This release supports
the X86,MIPS and ALPHA platforms.

Release Version 1.701 is compatable with both Windows NT
3.5X and 4.0. Release Version 1.8 is compatable with only
Windows NT 4.0.


Notes:
------
1. The Registry values for Windows NT have changed. In order
   to update the registry keys properly the old driver must be 
   removed, and the new driver must be reinstalled.

2. The drivers for Windows NT 3.5X (V1.701) are in \winnt\i386, 
   \winnt\mips and \winnt\alpha directories respectively.
   These drivers may also be installed on Windows NT 4.0 systems.
   The driver for Windows NT 4.0 (V1.8) is located in the
   \nt40\i386 directory.

3. Two utilities - fddistat.exe (V1.4) and download.exe (V1.2)
   are supplied. FDDISTAT displays current fddi variables.
   DOWNLOAD is used to update the firmware in the adapter card.
   Both run under NT as a character application.

4. In a MIPS environment, you must upgrade your Windows NT
   installation to the Service Pack 2 level or 3.5 version to use 
   the fddistat and download tools, otherwise running these tools
   will hang the system.

5. TCP/IP is not supported as the transport protocol when using 
   OS/2 version 1.3 with LAN Manager version 2.2.

The I386 subdirectory of the WINNT directory contain files
for the X86 platform and they are as follows:

OEMSETUP.INF - The x86 installation/setup information file.
C320TNT.SYS  - The x86 Driver for the Interphase EISA FDDI/CDDI Adapter.
FDDISTAT.EXE - The x86 FDDI Statistics tool.
DOWNLOAD.EXE - The x86 Flash/Firmware code download utility.

for the MIPS platform and they are as follows:
