23 Apr 1998 8:52 PM PROBLEM: Message logged by Interphase ATM node receiving from another Interphase ATM node. EventLog message-pair: (example messages shown) Ip5515si Warning None...LECn-n: rx 802.3 packet too short Ip5515si Warning None...Len 0 vcc 0/152 Note, that at this time, there are no reports of loss of connectivity, loss of data or application program errors as a result of this issue. CAUSE: The reporting node has received a valid AAL5 frame that apparently contains no data. The origin of this kind of frame is another Interphase ATM node. The transmitting ATM adapter is installed in a system slot in the 2nd PCI bus group. The root-cause of this problem is under investigation by Interphase. SOLUTION: Under development. Temporary work-around: Move Interphase ATM adapters to the system's primary PCI bus group. In the example below, moving the adapters to slots 5 or 6 stops the messages. This issue has been observed under the following conditions: Compaq Proliant 2500, Dual 200 MHz CPU, 96 MB RAM Windows NT 4.0 w/ServicePack-3 Banyan-Vines "Street Talk for NT" Version 7.5 (active Vines traffic) Interphase 5515 and 5575 PCI ATM adapters - Installed in slot 2 (2nd PCI bus group) - Driver version & part-numbers: Version ID 1.0 (SX00168-C02,C03) Version ID 1.1 (SX00168-C05) - LEC Type: Emulated LAN "Ethernet" - ATM Signalling: UNI 3.0 or UNI 3.1 Note: This is an observation and in no way indicates a fault or problem in any of the non-Interphase components.
